Solo: (July 2006 – Present)
Tom is an experienced blues musician who has drawn comparisons with the likes of Freddie King, Eric Clapton and Buddy Guy. He plays with his blues band, Tom Caswell Band, in the style of Derek and the Dominos, The Allman Brothers Band and Chicago style blues bands. He also plays solo acoustic and electric sets in the style of Mississippi bluesmen Robert Johnson and Son House. He takes his songwriting inspirations from George Harrison, Jimi Hendrix, Bob Dylan and various other 1960’s artists.
Tom is currently in the process of writing his debut originals LP which is set for a 2016 release.
Tom has been writing soundtracks since 2012 and has worked with BAFTA nominated directors. He writes music for all kinds of films and always caters for exactly what the client needs, no matter what the genre.
On one soundtrack in particular, Tom’s playing and composing has been compared to Ry Cooder’s work on the soundtrack for the film Paris, Texas.
Drivin’ Sideways (June 2015 – Present)
Tom is a member of a blues covers band in one of Oxfordshire’s most explosive blues acts, Drivin’ Sideways. With influences ranging from John Lee Hooker to Eric Clapton and Junior Wells to Buddy Guy, the band never fails to get the club a rockin’ with a collection of high standard blues and rock numbers.
