Solo: (July 2006 – Present)
Tom has been writing since 2006, building up a vast quantity of notepads and books full of songs. He takes his songwriting inspiration from George Harrison, Jimi Hendrix, Bob Dylan and various other 60’s artists.
He plays with his blues band, Tom Caswell Band, in the style of Derek and the Dominos, The Allman Brothers Band and Chicago style blues bands. He also plays solo acoustic and electric sets in the style of Mississippi bluesmen Robert Johnson and Son House.
At the start of 2013, Tom released ‘Live EP’ which contained hand picked live recordings from shows he played in 2012. A followup ‘Live EP2′ was released in late 2013.
Tom is currently in the process of writing his debut originals release with his band which is set for a 2014 release.
The Pimpernels: (August 2014 – Present)
The Pimpernels is the brain child and side project of English musician Tom Caswell. The band membership is ever changing and consists of a number of different musicians both on record and on stage.
The band is anchored in the blues/rock genre with enough grooves and riffs to last you a life time.
The debut self-titled album is set for release in 2015.
Tom has been writing soundtracks since 2012 and has worked with BAFTA nominated directors. He writes music for all kinds of films and always caters for exactly what the client needs, no matter what the genre.
On one soundtrack in particular, Tom’s playing and composing has been compared to Ry Cooder’s work on the soundtrack for the film Paris, Texas.
